I lost SO many clients doing this...

Upfront and honest. That's all I needed to be and this wouldn't have happened. It's not that I was lying about anything. It's that I wasn't SAYING anything. When I would get a new client (and as you know, a new client usually needs THE WORKS!), I would spend a lot of time going over everything that I recommended we do to her hair. After making all of my recommendations and getting her all excited about the new look she was going to get, I would dive right in and get started. After perfecting the last piece of hair with the last mist of hairspray, the style was perfect! She was beautiful.

Stress Reduction Kit

I have to say that my week this week could have been very frustrating! I spent a lot of valuable time fine tuning haircuts that weren't just right, and a lot MORE time working on re-adjusting a clients hair extensions only to have her call back again for a "RE-readjustment". Very frustrating!- AND a CRAZY client who's daughter was unhappy with her color because it "wasn't what she expected". As it turned out, she expected the "racing stripe" highlights that we agreed she wasn't getting!- yep, fixed that too!-for FREE! Even though it truly was her fault.

Everyone ALWAYS looks to who they BELIEVE to be the most TRUSTED professional for advise in any particular industry. Take a moment to think: If you want to sell your house, what real estate agent comes to mind? If you want to buy jewelry, who would pop into your mind(even though they might be out of your price range). Lawyer, tax advisor, photographer or interior designer. It doesn't matter what industry it might be, there is a reason those professionals pop into your mind.
